Course Description

This one-and-a-half-day course is aimed at young rheumatologists / HPR / researchers with some experience in epidemiology/outcomes research.
The main goal of the course is to increase the interest, knowledge and skills of young researchers in epidemiology and outcome measures, and stimulate critical thinking in the design and reading of research studies. Furthermore, the course will also allow young researchers to get together, which will facilitate future collaborations; as well as interact with the prestigious speakers.
The course will further focus on interactive learning and practical training, as reflected in the time dedicated for discussion and workshops.

Learning objectives

  • The main goal of the course is to increase the interest, knowledge and skills of young researchers in epidemiology and stimulate critical thinking in the design and reading of research studies.
  • To get insight into important epidemiological concepts and methodologies, including statistical analysis, and observational studies.
  • To allow young researchers with a confirmed interest in epidemiology to get together and network, which will facilitate future collaborations.

Target Audience / Application Requirements

This is an educational activity targeting young rheumatologists/HPR/researchers. This course has no specific prerequisites or application requirements, however it is highly recommended to have basic or intermediate knowledge and experience in epidemiology/outcomes research and statistics, as this is an intermediate/advanced course.

Certificate

After the course, all participants who have successfully completed the course will receive a certificate of attendance on their EULAR School user account. 100% course attendance is required.
